Caring for You Jewellery
Preserve the Radiance
Jewelry Care Guide
"Because we know you cherish your handcrafted pieces, we have curated a comprehensive care guide to help keep your pearls and fine jewelry in flawless condition for years to come."
✨
1. General Jewelry Care
- Remove Before Activities: To protect the brilliance and structural durability, always remove your jewelry before showering, bathing, heavy exercise, or swimming in ocean salt water and chlorinated pools.
- Avoid Chemical Contact: Household cleaners, air fresheners, hairsprays, perfumes, and lotions can accelerate oxidation and damage fine finishes. Minimize direct exposure whenever possible.
- Proper Storage: Store your pieces individually in soft velvet pouches or anti-tarnish bags to prevent items from tangling or scratching against each other. Avoid humid environments like bathrooms.
- Gentle Wiping: Never use paper towels or coarse tissues to wipe metal surfaces, as paper fibers can leave microscopic scratches on polished finishes.
🦪
2. Caring for Your Pearls
- The "Last On, First Off" Rule: Genuine pearls are organic gems that respond to chemicals. Put your pearls on after applying makeup, perfume, and hairspray to prevent build-up that can dull their natural luster.
- Protect from Heat: Keep pearls away from direct heat sources and extreme sunlight to avoid discoloration. Never steam clean or use ultrasonic jewelry cleaners on natural pearls.
- No Harsh Cleaners: Avoid liquid jewelry cleaners formulated for silver or gold. Clean pearls simply by wiping them with a soft, damp cloth after wearing.
- Restoring Radiance: If pearls appear dull after long-term wear, wipe gently with a damp cloth dipped in mild natural soap, wipe clean with pure water, and allow to dry FLAT on a soft towel. A micro-drop of fine olive oil wiped across the dry surface will help restore original sheen.
🔱
3. Fine Metals & Plating Care
- Silver & Gold Maintenance: Light tarnish on 925 Sterling Silver can easily be polished away with a specialized silver polishing cloth. Always rub in gentle straight motions rather than circular friction.
- Care Around Pearls: Keep silver polishing cloths away from organic pearls or natural gemstones, as polishing agents may damage delicate natural surfaces. Detach pendants before polishing chains.
- 14K Gold-Filled & PVD Vacuum Plated Metals: Our 14K Gold-Filled findings and PVD vacuum-plated stainless steel and brass pieces offer remarkable tarnish and water resistance. Gently rinse with warm water and wipe completely dry with a soft cloth to maintain their rich luster.
💎
4. Caring for Gemstones
- Gentle Cleaning: Natural gemstones are delicate. Avoid hot water, harsh detergents, or industrial chemicals. Clean gently with a clean, soft, damp microfiber cloth after wearing.
- Porous Gemstones: Extra delicate or porous stones (such as Turquoise, Howlite, or Emerald) should only be cleaned using a soft, untreated dry cloth to preserve their original natural color.
